In Chicago there is a program called After School Matters (ASM) that provides kids with learning experiences of various sorts after school hours in an effort to reduce crime and victimization. One of the programs is for kids to learn and practice art in various mediums. Downtown ASM has a storefront to sell the art created by these 14-18 year olds. Here are photos of two mosaics in their space, created by the kids in the 2010-2011 school year.
